Facility Designer I

About the role

The Facility Designer I is responsible for developing a major portion of our project deliverables including facility programming, report writing, site master planning, developing specifications and construction documents. They also select, coordinate, and layout various aspects of design such as vehicle maintenance equipment, site flow, etc., create/build using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents, submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review, and conduct construction field observations. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required. Other design/engineering tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop facility programming, report writing, site master planning, and construction documents
• Select, coordinate, and layout various aspects of design (vehicle maintenance equipment, site flow, etc.)
• Create/build using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents
• Submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review
• Conduct construction field observations
• Travel to client sites or other HDR offices as required
• Perform other design/engineering tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to effectively interact with and present to clients
• Exceptional level of accuracy and detail
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, industrial design or related
• Command of Revit and AutoCAD, and knowledge of SketchUp
• Command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project)
• Working knowledge of LOD 300 requirements

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
