Facility Attendant / Custodian

About the role

Chesterfield Sports Association is the owner and operator of The Beal Center - a premier sports and recreation facility dedicated to providing top-notch experiences for athletes, families, and community members. We are seeking an additional Facility Attendant / Custodian to join our team and help ensure our facility is clean, well-maintained, and ready for all types of events and activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility, including courts, common areas, and restrooms.
• Help with the setup and teardown of events, including arranging furniture, equipment, and other materials as directed by the Facility Maintenance Manager.
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and organizing equipment to ensure the facility remains in top condition.
• Safely handle and store athletic equipment, and assist with the movement of equipment as needed during events and practices.
• Ensure the facility is ready for use, including checking that all equipment is in proper working order and that all areas are free of hazards.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods of time, including bending, lifting, and carrying materials.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs, and occasionally lift athletic equipment weighing up to 55 lbs without assistance.
• 1-2 years of janitorial or event set-up experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• A keen eye for cleanliness and organization, with the ability to spot potential issues before they arise.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for events.
