Requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- High School or GED preferred
- Effective communication skills
- Previous experience working with VA population preferred
- 18 years old minimum required
- Prior experience in residential or drug and alcohol treatment setting is preferred
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents' behavior
- Ensure a safe, harassment-free atmosphere conducive to recovery
- Perform building checks for cleanliness and safety (this includes all rooms)
- Incident reporting to include writing incident reports, reporting immediately to Supervisor program manager and following procedures as stated in Merakey policy
- Monitor residents while they take their prescribed medication, report all medication monitoring issues to immediate supervisor and following Merakey incident report policy
- Monitor assigned chores (if applicable) and ensure that general inspections (GIs) are done properly
- Earn $18.82 an hour
Qualifications
- Facility Attendant position at Merakey's program in Philadelphia, PA
- Program Details: Fresh Start transitional housing program, operated by Merakey, provides 24/7 support to Veterans and individuals with a history of homelessness, chemical dependency, and/or varying degrees of behavioral health issues.
- Program Locations: Fresh Start operates out of 12 different locations in Philadelphia, PA, partnering with the Philadelphia V A Medical Center and Philadelphia's Office of Addiction Services (OAS).
- Self-pay housing options available for individuals to stay for an indefinite period of time.
- Position Details: Facility Attendants monitor residents' behavior, ensure a safe, harassment-free atmosphere conducive to recovery, perform building checks for cleanliness and safety, incident reporting, monitor residents while they take their prescribed medication, report all medication monitoring issues, monitor assigned chores, and complete assigned training within mandated time frames.
