Facility Custodian

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Sets up for programs, inside and outside of buildings, and cleans after programs are completed (as well as other locations when necessary).
• Maintains inventory of supplies.
• Cleans floors, restrooms, sinks, and water fountains.
• Replaces bulbs, raises and lowers flags, and cleans surrounding areas including parking lots.
• Makes minor emergency repairs as needed and reports repairs to facility supervisor.
• Cleans facility transportation vehicles.
• Assists in kitchen clean-up and with laundering duties, when necessary.
• Assists in pool maintenance if needed.

Additional Functions

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Three (3) months’ experience in building maintenance is preferred.
• Buffer and floor maintenance experience is preferred.
• Must have dependable transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work.
• May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
• Requires the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Environmental Factors

• Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, smoke, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials, unsafe structures, heights, confined spaces, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, bright/dim lights, toxic agents, animal/wildlife attacks, animal/human bites, or rude/irate customers.
