About the role
The Facilities Manager oversees the administration of compliance for operations and maintenance across satellite or affiliated facilities. They ensure the overall condition and appearance of the hospital and its facilities are maintained professionally.
Responsibilities
- Supports the development and management of operating and capital budgets for all departments and associated costs.
- Manages staffing schedules to cover critical events and everyday operations.
- Supports the Departmental Administration in budget management and quality control.
- Maintains compliance with state and local codes, TJC compliance, and insurance compliance through periodic inspections.
- Participates in planning future facility developments and manages equipment and systems retrofit, repair, replacement, or additions.
- Ensures the readiness, functioning, and maintenance of life safety systems and contracts for periodic inspections and special maintenance.
- Delegates routine repairs and maintenance tasks to supervisors and oversees the use of the Work Order/Preventive Maintenance system.
- Supports the negotiation, application, and management of the collective bargaining agreement between Jefferson and the Teamsters Union (Facilities Services).
- Assumes a leadership role in safety and emergency procedures.
- Manages human resource issues including employment, termination, suspension, training, grievances, and promotions.
- Develops and reviews plans for equipment and systems retrofit, repair, replacement, or additions.
- Supports the identification and resolution of system issues and the prevention of injuries.
- Communicates with co-workers, visitors, and other staff members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
- 4 years of Maintenance Supervision experience in a medium to highly regulated or technical field.
- Prior experience in Healthcare Facilities Management or equivalent industry (collective bargaining experience preferred).
