Facilities Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Facility Engineering Manager to lead a mission-critical Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program supporting a high-profile government customer in the Alexandria, Virginia area. In this highly visible role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the customer, providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and technical leadership across all contract activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous availability, reliability, and peak performance of critical infrastructure and building systems that directly support sensitive government operations.
Shift Structure
Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. May require on-call availability
Key Responsibilities
Lead program execution across all contract activities, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, SLAs, and performance metrics while developing and maintaining robust program management plans, risk management frameworks, and quality assurance processes
Serve as the primary customer liaison, managing relationships with government stakeholders, internal leadership, and subcontractor teams while delivering regular status reports and executive-level briefings to ensure transparency and alignment
Oversee 24/7 facility operations, overseeing system uptime, incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance activities to consistently meet mission-critical requirements
Manage program financials and resources, including budget oversight, staffing plans, forecasting, and strategic resource allocation to maximize program efficiency and mission effectiveness
Oversee subcontractor and vendor performance, holding partners accountable to contractual obligations and deliverable quality while driving a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and continuous process improvement
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, and/or a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience
15+ years of experience managing government programs with a focus on mission-critical O&M environments
Proven track record managing large, complex federal contracts
Strong technical knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Life Safety, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and critical facility operations
Demonstrated success managing budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams in high-stakes environments
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Must be skilled in creating complex spreadsheets (i.e. Excel, etc.), in preparing briefings (i.e. PowerPoint, etc.), Word, and Adobe Acrobat
Must be able to communicate clearly; must be able to provide security briefings and debriefings; must be able to provide comprehensive written communications
Must perform all duties in an extremely professional, customer-service oriented manner
