Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the overall maintenance, operation, safety and security of our brand-new state of the art MSC USA Headquarters located within Block 55 in Miami, FL and Fort Lauderdale location.
Primary Duties
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive facilities maintenance strategy, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs, to maximize asset reliability, extend equipment life, and ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Direct and hold accountable all facilities contractors, vendors, maintenance, housekeeping, and landscaping teams, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, on budget, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain exceptional indoor and outdoor environments, overseeing all landscaping, greenery, irrigation, and common areas to ensure an outstanding workplace experience.
- Own the performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, AV/IT, lighting, and life safety systems.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Facilities team, including Reception and workplace services, ensuring consistently outstanding service delivery.
- Influence the design and execution of workplace engagement initiatives, amenities, and office experiences in partnership with HR to create an engaging, welcoming, and high-performing work environment that strengthens employee satisfaction and company culture.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and audits to proactively identify maintenance needs, operational risks, safety concerns, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute maintenance activities, repairs, and capital improvement projects while minimizing operational disruption and ensuring timely delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable building codes, environmental regulations, occupational safety requirements, and LEED certification standards, maintaining readiness for inspections and audits.
- Manage all aspects of physical security, including building access, visitor management, parking operations, surveillance systems, and coordination with security providers.
- Partner closely with business leaders and functional teams to anticipate workplace needs, deliver responsive facility solutions, and support initiatives such as EHS programs, wellness spaces, and employee experience enhancements.
- Lead business continuity and emergency preparedness efforts, developing, maintaining, and executing emergency response plans for severe weather, fire, active shooter, and other critical incidents.
- Own the facilities operating and capital budgets, developing annual budgets and multi-year investment plans while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and maximize return on investment.
- Establish and maintain accurate facility documentation, including maintenance records, asset inventories, warranties, service contracts, compliance documentation, and performance metrics.
- Drive workplace cleanliness, sustainability, and operational excellence, overseeing housekeeping, waste management, recycling initiatives, and environmental stewardship programs.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, industry best practices, and workplace innovations, implementing solutions that improve operational performance, sustainability, and employee experience.
- Partner with the Construction and Real Estate teams to successfully deliver renovations, expansions, relocations, and workplace optimization initiatives from planning through execution.
- Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other health and safety regulations while promoting safe work practices across all facilities operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in facility management, engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or equivalent experience will also be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance.
- Must be bi-lingual (English & Spanish).
- In-depth knowledge of AV/IT, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as general building maintenance practices.
- Strong understanding of the unique requirements for maintaining environmental controls, and security measures.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly and effectively.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with staff at all levels and across departments.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & facility management software.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
