Job Specific Summary

Medtronic is hiring for multiple Facilities Automation Maintenance Technician positions at our Airways Distribution Center in Memphis, TN. We’ve been on a three-year journey to modernize our U.S. distribution network and transform how we distribute our products. The Airways DC is one of two new U.S. distribution hubs opened within the last two years to enhance and streamline our delivery operations. We’re aiming to elevate the customer experience and generate cost savings with state-of-the-art technology and standardized processes. Responsibilities

  • Proactively performs scheduled preventive maintenance on automation, conveyance, and sortation equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and ensure equipment is maintained in like-new condition
  • Works flexibly with Operations leadership to perform maintenance activities during shift changes, lunch breaks, and other opportune times where possible
  • Acts with urgency and leverages experience and deep knowledge of automation and conveyance to quickly restore equipment to operation following an unplanned event
  • May perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment
  • May perform work in additional maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding
  • Counsults with Operations leadership to conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment
  • Implements reliability best practices in alignment with Medtronic Facilities Maintenance Excellence strategy
  • Uses hand and power tools
  • Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment
  • Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Facilities/Maintenance experience
  • Nice to Have: Experience in a distribution center, warehouse, and/or fulfillment operation
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing Exotec warehouse robotics systems, Sparck box-on-demand equipment, automated shipping sorters, material handling equipment, conveyors, etc.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to use multi meter to troubleshoot incoming power and low voltage controls
  • HVAC experience
  • Electrical experience
  • EPA universal certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of GMPs, FDA regulations, Quality System Regulations (QSR), ISO 13485 requirements
  • Knowledge in EHS field

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This role is based onsite in Memphis.

Pay

$59,200.00 - $88,800.00
