Facility Maintenance Technician III

About the role

Under direct supervision, this position performs journeyman‑level repairs and maintenance on public buildings involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry. The work includes a broad range of building‑trade skills to keep all facilities operational, and may require emergency service or duties outside the normal scope for the benefit of the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform journeyman‑level repairs and maintenance on public buildings, covering HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
• Utilize functional skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, brick and concrete masonry, metal work, plastics, vinyl wall and floor coverings, drywall, plaster, and acoustical ceiling and wall treatments.
• Provide service or perform duties different from the usual course during emergency situations.
• Follow detailed instructions with strict adherence to prescribed standards, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Report directly to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• Valid Texas Class “C” driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of experience in all phases of building trades and maintenance.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and respond to emergencies as needed.

Pay

Starting salary: $20.82 per hour.
