Facilities HVAC Technician @ Sand Valley
Position Summary
The Facilities HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, cooling, and ventilation systems across both residential and commercial areas of the resort. This role supports daily facility operations and requires knowledge of HVAC systems, along with general skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC equipment, refrigerators, coolers, and related mechanical systems
Establish and follow a preventive maintenance schedule
Respond to work orders and on-call requests across the resort, including advanced and routine maintenance
Evaluate on-site issues and communicate findings to Facilities Management
Submit accurate work orders outlining scope, time, and materials used
Maintain equipment manuals, maintenance records, and as-built documentation
Identify and communicate vendor needs or in-house solutions; assist with cost-saving evaluations
Maintain inventory of critical HVAC parts and assist with restocking
Keep assigned company vehicle clean and in good working condition per company policy
Follow all company, department, and regulatory safety protocols and attend required training
Support other maintenance duties as assigned
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED required; HVAC certification preferred
Minimum two years of HVAC maintenance experience (residential and/or commercial)
EPA Section 608 Certification required if handling refrigerants
Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Strong communication skills (including radio); able to work independently and follow instructions
Basic proficiency with computers and mobile devices
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
This role includes indoor and outdoor work across the resort and may involve changing weather conditions, noise, moving equipment, working at heights or in confined spaces, and using tools and equipment for extended periods
Team members must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally move appliances or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with team assistance or appropriate lifting equipment
