About the role

The HVAC Facilities Technician supports the Operations, Engineering & Maintenance Departments by installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and refrigeration systems. They also monitor and proactively correct out-of-spec conditions in warehouses and labs, ensuring compliance with ISO-classified spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment, including AHUs, RTUs, condensers, exhaust fans, VAV boxes, and ductwork.
  • Replace or clean HEPA filters, pre-filters, belts, motors, sensors, and dampers to maintain system efficiency and cleanroom compliance.
  • Monitor and proactively correct out-of-spec conditions in the warehouse and labs.
  • Respond to out-of-spec alarms and environmental alerts in coordination with QA, Validation, and Facilities teams.
  • Maintain documentation and comply with audit readiness and cGMP documentation requirements.
  • Support for validated spaces, including HVAC requalification activities, airflow visualization, and pressure balancing in cleanrooms.
  • Coordinate and communicate with facility engineers, external contractors, and BMS/EMS technicians to coordinate system shutdowns, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Provide feedback on system performance and recommend upgrades or efficiency improvements as needed.
  • Perform other building maintenance tasks as assigned by the manager.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Utilize materials and tools to assist with the creation of custom equipment to support the operation.
  • Communicate issues that could result in safety risks or loss to management.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement improvement projects and contribute to the continuous improvement culture within the organization.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to general equipment maintenance.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and present state-required proof of age documents.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required.
  • Able to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Use of business computer systems and applications—specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project Management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with machinery without supervision or direction.
  • Ability to document predictive/preventive maintenance charts, technical data, and other data; interpret data and provide relevant input for process improvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English (Bilingual in Spanish preferred).
  • Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization.
  • Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives.
  • Comprehend and adhere to all Hims Inc. policies and procedures including, but not limited to, those related to attendance and scheduling requirements, honesty and integrity, confidentiality, safety, and conflicts of interest.
  • 3+ years of industry experience or 5+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or field with related skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and operate advanced technical equipment in a related industry.
  • Knowledge of and experience with HVAC systems, including Heating and Air Conditioning, Air Flow specifications, Boilers, and Chillers.
  • Knowledge of and experience with CMMS systems.
  • Formal training or certification through an accredited institution in at least one of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air compression, PLC systems.
  • 5+ years previous maintenance experience in a commercial facility or with equipment mentioned above.
  • 5+ years of electrical knowledge and electronic principles.
  • Advanced degree/training in engineering, maintenance, or other related field.
  • Advanced formal training in lean or six sigma.

Physical exertion required, including walking, standing, squatting, bending, and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve-hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Associates must confirm understanding of potential risks associated with handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD).
