About the Role

The Facilities and Property Manager oversees the physical environments and operational assets for all centers, Life Skills Autism Academies, and corporate locations. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of real estate assets, ensuring continuity of operations and a safe work environment for team members and clients. The position manages assigned locations across Centria’s portfolio of leased sites in Michigan and 12 other states.

This high-profile role involves oversight of general property and maintenance operations, budgeting, capital improvement planning, vendor contract management, and landlord relations. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, problem-solving self-starter with demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced environment, often requiring work beyond a typical 40-hour workweek.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure therapy centers and offices are properly maintained, repairs are completed timely, and team members comply with regulatory and company standards.
  • Negotiate service contracts through competitive bidding, schedule and monitor contractor/vendor activities, and ensure high performance standards.
  • Maintain safety and integrity of locations, systems, and equipment; project future needs, including capital improvements; implement preventative maintenance programs; and supervise construction/tenant improvement work.
  • Conduct comprehensive quarterly inspections to ensure operational standards are met.
  • Communicate regularly with landlords to ensure compliance and satisfaction with locations.
  • Work on ad-hoc requests and special projects for the Director of Real Estate and Facilities.
  • Commit to visiting every site in the assigned portfolio one to two times per quarter or more, depending on company need.
  • Specialize in one or more core functions across Centria’s portfolio:
    • Site Security: Be a Subject Matter Expert on physical or access-control security.
    • Site Design: Assist with designing and laying out new and existing locations.
    • Construction: Manage and oversee construction projects, including site meetings, timelines, and vendor bids/walks; drive site staging initiatives.
  • Lead and maintain staff by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training team members; communicate job expectations; and monitor performance.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team to deliver best-practice results and continuous improvements.
  • Promote high standards through personal example and ensure team members understand expected behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with Centria’s Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, and Federal/State laws; report violations as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Background in ABA Therapy Services from an Operations standpoint is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills; ability to work with all levels of staff.
  • Experience in facility-related matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and G Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify improvements and implement positive change to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Good working knowledge of commercial buildings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

  • Centria’s office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM–6:00 PM.
  • Overnight travel may be required based on facility locations and business needs.
  • Additional time or occasional shifts may be required for projects and meetings.

Physical Requirements

  • Bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds may be required.
  • Sitting for most of the day, with periodic walking and standing.
  • Close visual acuity for analyzing data and figures on computer screens.

Pay

$70,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year.
