About the role

Develop, coordinate, and deliver professional growth activities in content and program areas.

Facilitate the recruitment, selection, and retention of projected and current interns.

Participate in professional development as required to perform and improve required skills in content and program areas.

Assist teachers in obtaining instructional materials for curriculum development and implementation if/or when needed.

Prepare and maintain 100% accurate records for all active alternative certification teachers.

Work with a wide diversity of individuals and work with data of varied types and/or purposes.

Complete multiple tasks successfully to meet established timelines and deadlines, and organize and communicate information and concepts for various presentations for a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the recruitment, selection, and retention of projected and current interns.
  • Interface with all appropriate departments and personnel to ensure program coordination, implementation in content and program areas for alternative certification teachers.
  • Provide one-on-one teacher assistance in content and program areas if or when needed.
  • Adapt training and support to align with teachers to ensure improvement towards Proficient I in Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI).
  • Provide focused, sustained training that assists teachers in meeting data-driven, collaboratively determined instructional goals in content and program areas.
  • Develop strategic intervention methods that provide instructional support for alternative certification teachers functioning below expected outcomes.
  • Observe and coach caseload of teachers to ensure that all teacher candidates are on track toward becoming effective teachers based on the Teacher Excellence Initiative and other supporting data.
  • Attend department meetings and provide input for program resolution.
  • Learn and operate the District's Absence Management System to map observations.
  • Access and utilize District's operating system Oracle, Application System and Outlook.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level required.
  • 3-5 direct years of experience required.
