Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is the largest local interpretation and translation business in Columbus, providing interpreters and translators locally and nationwide. Our main office is located in Downtown Columbus.
About the role
As a face-to-face Nepali language interpreter, you'll use your bilingual skills to assist others during medical, social service, and other types of in-person appointments. This role offers a flexible schedule with the opportunity to earn more by taking on additional assignments. Most assignments are requested during business hours but are available 24/7/365.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, culturally sensitive interpretation between English and Nepali in face-to-face settings.
- Assist clients during medical, social service, and other appointments.
- Accept or decline assignments based on your availability.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprint-based) and a 10-panel drug screening at no cost to you.
- Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy," Court Interpretation, or a Certificate/Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
- Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing organization (cost may apply if certification is not already held).
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and Nepali (written and verbal).
- No prior professional interpretation experience required.
- Experience with English as a Second Language (ESL) is welcome.
Pay
Higher rates may be offered to individuals with more experience. Earnings depend on the number of assignments accepted.
