Face to Face Interpreter – Hakha Chin

About the Role

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, the largest local interpretation & translation business in Columbus, is seeking Hakha Chin language interpreters to provide face-to-face interpretation services for medical, social service, and other types of appointments. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to choose your own hours and take on as many or as few assignments as you prefer. It’s a rewarding opportunity to use your bilingual skills to help those in need.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation services during various appointments.
• Assist individuals who speak Hakha Chin and English to communicate effectively.

Requirements

• Located in the Central Ohio area.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).
• Provide proof of completion of an accredited interpreter training program of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access Academy, Court Interpretation, or a Certificate/Degree in interpretation).
• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited organization.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Hakha Chin.
• No previous professional interpretation experience required.
• Open to those who speak English as a second language (ESL).
