About the role
As a face-to-face Dari Language Interpreter, you'll use your bilingual skills to assist others during medical, social service, and other types of in-person appointments. This role offers a flexible schedule with the opportunity to earn more by taking on additional assignments. Interpreting with Access 2 Interpreters is rewarding, allowing you to help those in need while utilizing your language proficiency.
Assignments are available 24/7/365, with most requests occurring during business hours. You choose your own schedule and can accept as many or as few assignments as you prefer.
Requirements
- Located in the Central Ohio area.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprint-based) and a 10-panel drug screening at no cost to you.
- Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy," Court Interpretation, or a Certificate/Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
- Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing organization (cost may apply if certification is not already held).
No prior professional interpretation experience is required, and English as a Second Language (ESL) speakers are welcome.
