Face to Face Interpreter - Hindi / Gujarati / Punjabi / Bengali / Urdu
About the role
As a face-to-face interpreter, you'll use your language skills to assist others during medical, social service, and other types of appointments. Interpreting with Access 2 Interpreters offers a flexible schedule with good pay—earn more by taking more assignments. This role is ideal for those who want to use their bilingual skills to help others in need while setting their own hours.
Assignments are available 24/7/365, with most requested during business hours. You choose how many or how few assignments to accept.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person interpretation for medical, social service, and other appointments.
- Use your bilingual skills to facilitate communication between non-English speakers and service providers.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprint-based) and a 10-panel drug screening at no cost to you.
- Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy," Court Interpretation, or a Certificate/Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
- Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing organization (cost may apply if not already certified).
No prior professional interpretation experience is required, and English as a second language (ESL) speakers are welcome.

Pay
Earnings are based on the number of assignments you accept. The more assignments you take, the more you can earn.
