Face to Face Interpreter - Kinyarwanda / Kirundi / Luganda
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is the largest local interpretation and translation business in Columbus, providing interpreters and translators locally and nationwide. Our main office is located in Downtown Columbus.
About the role
As a face-to-face interpreter, you'll use your language skills to assist others during medical, social service, and other types of appointments. Interpreting with Access is a flexible way to earn money—the more assignments you take, the more you can earn. Assignments are available 24/7/365, with most requested during business hours. Using your bilingual skills to help those in need is highly rewarding.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).
- Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy," Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
- Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda, Luganda, and/or Kirundi.
- No previous professional interpretation experience required.
- English as a second language (ESL) speakers are welcome.
