Experienced Veterinary Assistant

SouthPark Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
- Providing safe, gentle patient handling and stress-free restraint during outpatient and procedural care
- Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
- Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
- Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant role
- Proficiency in safe animal handling and stress-free restraint skills for dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, and avian of varying sizes and temperaments
- Strong client communication and education skills
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
- Ability to assist with exams, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures
- Ability to assist in surgical procedures and dental prophy's
- Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
Schedule
This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and rotating Saturday coverage for a half-day shift.
Pay
Compensation: $22 - $25 per hour.
