EXPERIENCED SHIPWRIGHT/LINESMAN ($3,000 SIGN-ON BONUS)

U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. This is a full-time role with multiple shifts available. Relocation assistance is not provided, and telework is not eligible.

About the Role

X11 Linesmen are responsible for critical ship and module alignments and measurements using a variety of 3-dimensional and standard optical tooling. These alignments and measurements are used to undock and dock ships, develop cut lines, align and install ship components, and pair major modules. The role requires determining the proper tooling for the job, conducting surveys to establish measurement locations outlined in technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, all while working safely with a high degree of accuracy.

Linesmen routinely interface with Engineering, other Trades, and Ship Management. The successful candidate should have proven math skills, computer skills, and good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in the use of optical equipment such as optical levels, electronic theodolites, and total stations is required to establish ships' reference lines and planes, measure in-process hull circularities, record critical ship dimensions, and support production by providing profiles and locations of major components.

Responsibilities

• Determine the proper tooling for alignment and measurement tasks.
• Conduct surveys to establish locations of measurements as outlined in technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Perform alignments and measurements for undocking and docking ships, developing cut lines, and installing ship components.
• Interface with Engineering, other Trades, and Ship Management.
• Use optical equipment such as optical levels, electronic theodolites, and total stations.
• Establish ships' reference lines and planes.
• Measure and record in-process hull circularities and critical ship dimensions.
• Support production by providing profiles and locations of major components.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience as a Survey Technician, Metrology Technician, PLS certification, or equivalent survey field experience.
• Ability to work at extreme heights or in small confined spaces.
• Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Must pass a respirator fit test.
• Must be able to work assigned shifts as production needs dictate.
• Must pass a Physical Agility Test.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience with AutoCAD, Excel, surveying field software, and various other programs.
• Thorough understanding of mathematics used in field survey analysis.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this role is $74,297.60 to $85,196.80. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
