Experienced/Lateral - Legal Associate

About the role

We are seeking to add a Legal Associate to our team based in our New York office. This is a broad role, where you will join a team responsible for the full range of the firm's legal needs across our offices. Tasks will include:

• Providing legal analysis of new business opportunities (new markets, products and trading opportunities)
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating NDAs and commercial contracts (technology, data, and vendor agreements)
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating trading and counterparty documentation
• Assisting with general corporate matters
• Advising on employment and personnel matters
• Managing outside counsel where specialist input is required

About You

• The candidate must hold a JD (or equivalent) and be admitted to practice in New York
• A minimum of five years of relevant experience gained at a major law firm, in-house, or a combination of the two
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills across a wide range of commercial agreements
• Sound commercial judgment and the ability to give clear and practical advice to non-legal audiences
• Ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask
• Comfort working across jurisdictions and with colleagues and counsel in other offices
• Experience at a proprietary trading firm, broker-dealer or financial institution is preferred

Pay

Annual Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000. Base salary does not include discretionary bonus, if eligible, or benefits.
