Expanded Function Dental Assistant - Relief

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records, update histories and vital signs.
• Perform complete X-ray procedures, including panoramic and intraoral radiographs, and document in electronic records.
• Conduct periodontal charting and prepare instruments and materials for patient exams.
• Assist with infection control, sterilization, and autoclave procedures.
• Provide preventative periodontal care, oral hygiene education, and counsel patients.
• Support orthodontic procedures, including record-taking and appliance fabrication.
• May assume lead duties, coordinate department flow, train staff, and liaise with supervisors.
• Ensure clinical compliance with relevant health standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• EFDA certification within 90 days of employment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish at level 10.
• Basic knowledge of dental terminology, materials, infection control, and oral health education.
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to perform four-handed assisting.
• Proficiency with dental records software, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Compensation

$26.02-$33.14/hour DOE, with additional pay for bilingual skills.
