Expanded Function Dental Assistant - Relief

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining patient records and updating medical histories
• Performing comprehensive X-ray procedures and managing digital records
• Assisting with periodontal charting, instrument preparation, and infection control
• Providing preventative oral care such as polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealants
• Educating patients on oral hygiene practices
• Supporting orthodontic procedures, including record collection and appliance handling
• Managing departmental workflow, acting as a liaison, training staff, and supervising daily operations
• Adhering to regulatory standards and performing other assigned duties

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GEDEFDA certification within 90 days
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• Optional registration as a Surgical Technologist
• Bilingual skills preferred for additional pay
• Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and electronic records
• Manual dexterity and professionalism in patient interactions
