Responsibilities
- Assists residents with transfers, walking, strength training, and range of motion exercises.
- Documents service and changes in the patient’s conditions.
- Aids patients with dressing or grooming, applies and monitors splinting, and helps with amputation and prosthesis care.
- Communicates observations of residents' conditions, preventing neglect, abuse, and violations of rights and privacy.
- Sanitizes whirlpools, tubs, and showers when used in restorative therapy.
- Assists residents with ambulation and transfer as needed.
- Performs restorative care treatments.
- Encourages residents to perform or participate in daily ADL functions.
- Demonstrates procedures involved in the treatment process and recommends modifications as needed.
- Instructs and supervises residents during therapy.
- Prepares residents for treatment by dressing/positioning and administers restorative care according to established policies and procedures.
- Ambulates residents in accordance with the resident's plan of care.
- Provides a range of motion (ROM) in accordance with the resident's plan of care.
- Positions residents as required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state where employed.
- Minimum of three months' prior Nursing Assistant experience in long-term care (preferred).
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
