Job Summary
Provides resident care support under the direction of a licensed therapist. Assists residents to participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance.
Responsibilities
- Assists patients with transfers, walking, strength training, and range of motion exercises
- Documents service and changes in the patient’s conditions
- Assists patients with dressing or grooming
- Applies and monitors splinting
- Helps with amputation and prosthesis care
- Communicates observations of residents' conditions
- Prevents residents' neglect, abuse, and violations of rights and privacy
- Promotes continuity of care through accurate and timely documentation and reporting
- Sanitizes whirlpools, tubs, and showers when used in restorative therapy
- Ambulates residents in accordance with the resident’s plan of care
- Provides a range of motion (ROM) in accordance with the resident’s plan of care
- Position Requirements
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Current CNA Certification in State employed
- A minimum of three months' prior Nursing Assistant experience in long-term care is preferred
- Current First Aid and CPR
