Restorative Aide

Job Summary

Provides resident care support under the direction of a licensed therapist. Assists residents to participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with transfers, walking, strength training, and range of motion exercises
• Documents service and changes in the patient’s conditions
• Assists patients with dressing or grooming
• Applies and monitors splinting
• Helps with amputation and prosthesis care
• Communicates observations of residents' conditions
• Prevents residents' neglect, abuse, and violations of rights and privacy
• Promotes continuity of care through accurate and timely documentation and reporting
• Sanitizes whirlpools, tubs, and showers when used in restorative therapy
• Ambulates residents in accordance with the resident’s plan of care
• Provides a range of motion (ROM) in accordance with the resident’s plan of care
• Position Requirements

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Current CNA Certification in State employed
• A minimum of three months' prior Nursing Assistant experience in long-term care is preferred
• Current First Aid and CPR
