Expanded Function Dental Assistant - Full Time

About the role

Join our team as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant responsible for supporting dental providers chairside and performing advanced clinical functions to enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient records, update medical histories, and record vital signs.
• Perform X-ray procedures, including panoramic and intraoral images, and manage their storage in electronic dental records.
• Conduct periodontal charting, prepare instruments, and assist with exams.
• Mix materials, ensuring infection control and cross-contamination prevention.
• Provide preventative care such as polishing, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and assist in implementing infection control protocols.
• Support orthodontic procedures, including record collection and appliance handling.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Oregon EFDA certification.
• BLS certification within 90 days.
• Proficiency in electronic records and basic computer skills.
• Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish/Cantonese/Vietnamese) preferred.
• Demonstrate professionalism, manual dexterity, and knowledge of dental terminology and infection control techniques.
