Executive Partner - CIO Advisory
About the role
As a Gartner Executive Partner (EP), you will serve as an indispensable advisor for Information Technology and digital leaders. Executive Technology Services (ETS) is a membership-based organization serving over 7,000 CIOs, CxOs, and senior IT leaders across 87 countries. The program has seen double-digit growth year-over-year, with 54% of members signing multi-year contracts. You will act as a coach, content-provider, and business advisor to Executive Programs members, partnering with colleagues across Gartner to deliver service solutions using Gartner’s products and services.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 25+ members consisting of digital/technology leaders from large commercial and high-tech organizations with revenue exceeding $15B.
- Develop a deep understanding of members’ priorities and challenges, helping them find solutions and execute on their strategy by leveraging your experience, Gartner’s capabilities, and industry trends.
- Challenge members with new ideas and innovative approaches, providing an outside perspective on their decisions and direction.
- Define and deliver innovative solutions by assessing members’ top priorities and developing customized service plans.
- Conduct briefings, strategy sessions, and workshops (virtual and onsite), as well as research analyst visits, roundtables, and webinars.
- Build strong partnerships with Gartner’s Sales organization to ensure strong member engagement and renewal of ExP business.
- Present or facilitate at local ExP events.
Requirements
- Must have served as a Global CIO, CIO, or senior technology executive.
- 20+ years of progressive technology exposure in areas such as AI, BI, ML, Digital Transformation, Big Data, Cloud, etc.
- Demonstrable experience leading or co-leading large, end-to-end transformative initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge of digital/technology leadership focus areas, including IT operations management, IT and business strategy, technology trends, performance metrics, and KPIs.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by today’s digital/technology leaders and how Gartner ExP can provide advisory value.
- Experience with key business concepts such as revenue enablement, market improvement, risk reduction, and P&L responsibility (including launching a P&L or creating new revenue streams).
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, and emerging technologies.
- Advanced critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to lead in uncertain situations.
- Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills.
- Superior verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills (executive presence).
- Demonstrable sales and/or business development experience with CXO-level executives.
- Expertise in managing multiple priorities.
- Commitment to making others successful and a naturally collaborative approach.
- Active listening skills and ability to challenge the status quo in a professional and engaging manner.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $188,000–$225,000 USD. Actual salaries may vary based on factors including education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
