Executive Director, RN Programs
About the role
The Executive Director for Nursing Programs will oversee and direct the operations, activities, staff, and faculty of the Nursing RN programs.
Responsibilities
- Develops short-term and long-term strategic planning initiatives.
- Defines, develops, implements, and monitors effective policies and procedures.
- Coordinates the continuing assessment of curriculum and content of course offerings.
- Selects and orders textbooks and related equipment and materials.
- Encourages the development and usage of pedagogical technology and instructional media.
- Maintains and upgrades computer labs.
- Assists in the identification and resolution of student problems.
- Recruits, appoints, and mentors full-time faculty.
- Conducts faculty observations, obtains student evaluations, and provides feedback.
- Develops and communicates performance goals, completes performance evaluations, and implements necessary disciplinary actions.
- Identifies and secures clinical sites for students.
- Develops and recommends the annual programs budget.
- Monitors and analyzes the annual operating budget.
- Develops and implements policies specific to the nursing programs.
- Remains knowledgeable of regulatory issues and participates in state nursing organizations.
- Serves as an active member of various internal and external committees.
- Represents the College to external constituencies.
Requirements
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a minimum of five years of teaching and relevant administrative experience in curriculum/course development, review and implementation, and oversight of faculty and staff.
Demonstrated ability to interact with a culturally diverse population and to effectively and respectfully function and communicate within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
Broad and comprehensive knowledge of Nursing curriculum and Nursing practice and understanding of the principles, methods, and techniques in program management, design, implementation, assessment, and administration.
Knowledge of budgeting and cost control and skill in fiscal management.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, influence and negotiation skills.
Ability to think conceptually, develop and implement policies and procedures, and make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Effective organization and prioritization skills required.
Computer proficiency also required.
Bilingual ability preferred.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of five years of teaching and relevant administrative experience.
