Responsibilities
- Serves as Executive Director Programs of the Illinois MBDA Business Center including all award management and reporting responsibilities to MBDA.
- Oversees one-on-one and group client counseling, including business planning, finance, sales, and marketing strategies to assist clients with sustaining business growth, and conduct client follow-ups. Provides support as needed.
- Works with our team to plan and deliver existing and new workshops, events, and training for business clients at all community and partner locations.
- Tracks client satisfaction results and economic impact.
- Counsels and supports clients in developing business plans, financial strategies, sales, and marketing.
- Conducts outreach and network with community organizations and media outlets to maximize program engagement and MBDA Business Center and SE brand.
- Develops and implements marketing strategies for programs in cooperation with MBDA Business Center and SE marketing team.
- Represents the Illinois MBDA Business Center at local and national events.
- Supervises staff and contractors.
- Hires, onboards, and trains contractors and new team members.
- Assesses the needs of small business owners and recommends and implements a plan of action.
- Performs outreach and maintains collaborative relationships with local financial institutions, relevant service providers, the local business community, and other stakeholders in the community.
- Maintains and analyzes data on program effectiveness. Also uses the program data to create training and services that are relevant for our clients.
- Performs administrative tasks and scheduling as needed.
- Prepares deliverables and required reports as directed.
- Oversees operations of the external accounting, CPA, auditing firm, and bookkeeping (contractors).
- Guides financial decisions and protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data on a monthly basis provided by CPA firm.
- Works with Office Manager (OM) to ensure bank reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis.
- Recommends benchmarks to measure the operating performance.
- Manages the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Oversees individual spending and expense reporting.
- Maintains and understands how to use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool - like Salesforce by Salesforce Data Analyst.
- Prepares quarterly, semi-annual, and annual award reports for MBDA.
- Grant Management
- Completes budget objectives by monitoring scheduled expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Ensures invoicing/vouchers are completed in a timely manner.
Qualifications

Education
- At least a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit administration, business administration, communications, or a similar field.
- A Master of Business Administration or a master’s degree in fundraising or nonprofit management is desired.
- Spanish-speaking preferred.
Pay
- Starting salary is $75,000.00+
- Health benefits are provided.
