About the role

The Executive Director of Slot Operations will oversee all operations and functions of Slot services in alignment with the company’s mission and objectives, ensuring compliance with operational policies and procedures. This role manages the daily operations and revenue management of the Wendover properties and supervises the Directors of Slot Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and administer department policies, activities, and both short- and long-term goals in alignment with property objectives.
  • Set and administer the annual operating budget, maintaining controls to prevent variances.
  • Evaluate P&L statements and other financial reports to monitor performance.
  • Review and evaluate slot services and maintenance departmental performances, resolving unsatisfactory results through division directors.
  • Analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to assess progress toward departmental and organizational goals.
  • Confer with the General Manager to review achievements and discuss necessary changes in goals or objectives.
  • Review, approve, or deny recommendations for hiring, transfers, suspensions, layoffs, terminations, promotions, evaluations, training, and disciplinary actions for department employees.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Oversee coordination of slot machine moves with manufacturers and in-house personnel.
  • Ensure knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and company internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Set priorities for Slot Operations and provide guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate and implement projects on the casino floor and related facilities.
  • Hire slot personnel and implement proper training.
  • Perform related or other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical and electronic slot machine functions and operations.
  • Title 31 training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, and cooperation while working with minimal supervision.
  • High concentration to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Record-keeping or bookkeeping skills.
  • Professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to acquire a Nevada Gaming Registration; accuracy and attention to detail required for regulatory forms.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced casino environment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for long periods.
  • Ability to speak, hear, write, finger, and feel.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds and occasionally more.
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to endure variable temperature conditions (extreme heat or cold).
