Job Summary
The Director of Gaming Ops is responsible for the successful operation of the Gaming Department to ensure that our guests have a favorable gaming experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide support to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager by overseeing Gaming Operations, directing Beverage Server operations, and optimizing HRM performance through effective floor management, preventive maintenance, and equipment performance strategies.
- Review staffing levels to maintain an appropriate level of employment.
- Review and manage the department’s financial results.
- Approve large jackpots above levels authorized for subordinates as set out in the SOP.
- Serve as the property point of contact for all communications, projects, and initiatives involving HHR regulators and HRM hardware and software manufacturers.
- Support the CDI Sr. Director of Slot/HRM Optimization when needed:
- To compile and/or review regulatory submissions
- To assist with new build installations
- To assist with other HRM strategic initiatives in Kentucky
- Delegate duties and assigns responsibilities.
- Ensures the safety and security of team members and guests.
- Manages processes and programs to effectively control and reduce lost time injuries.
- Directs and manages gaming equipment conversions, placement, and repair.
- Develops Team Members through coaching, interviewing, hiring, and performance evaluations.
- Maintains a low percentage of out-of-service or reduced capacity games.
- Reviews gaming activities and promotional performance with the GM and AGM.
- Makes adjustments to gaming floor performance in relation to local competition, gaming mix, and pricing strategy.
- Makes meetings with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
- Ensures compliance with all gaming regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the property’s BSA Policy.
- Monitors for suspicious activity as defined by the BSA and the property’s BSA Policy.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Maintain the highest standards of leadership, training and overall management while overseeing all aspects of the Gaming Operations and Gaming Performance departments.
- Maintain professional working relationships among all personnel.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Lead by example relative to exemplary customer service both internal and external.
- Assume overall responsibility for gaming machine performance.
Education And Experience
- Seven to ten years of experience with operations and management in a multi-device 24-hour gaming operation.
- Significant experience and expertise in collecting, organizing, evaluating, and presenting gaming performance data.
- Prior experience with a Historical Horse Racing System or similar experience with network system a plus.
- Experience using Aristocrat Oasis Accounting System a plus.
- Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.
- Ability to obtain a valid Sportsbook License.
