About the role
Join the culinary team at Florence Presbyterian Community as an Executive Chef. This leadership position is part of the management team and oversees the quality standards and practices of the food production process, including purchasing, food specifications, meal preparation, service, and sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure service and operational excellence in quality and presentation.
- Participate in the planning and execution of special events.
- Respond to guest meal surveys and identify areas for improvement.
- Visit all dining areas to assess satisfaction levels.
- Ensure proper serving portions and oversee food preparation to minimize waste.
- Execute high-quality, good-tasting, and well-presented meals daily.
- Assist in completing and implementing production sheets, recipes, order books, temperature logs, and other documentation as needed.
- Develop menus to meet resident preferences, seasonal variances, and cost objectives.
- Maintain Quality Assurance files and logs.
- Ensure staff practices meet HACCP and infection control standards.
- Regularly monitor and enforce safety standards with staff.
- Supervise culinary staff, including cooks and utility workers.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree (required).
- Three years of experience in a supervisory culinary role (required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft software programs.
- Strong planning, organizing, leadership, and team management skills.
- ServSafe Certification (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred).
- Direct experience working in senior living as a culinary supervisor (preferred).
- Experience with ordering systems and proven relationships with outside vendors (preferred).
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification (preferred).
