About the role

The EVS Director is responsible for directing and overseeing the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department. You will coordinate the tasks of the Assistant Directors and Operations Managers, serve as a liaison between administration and hospital departments, and actively communicate with administration and other hospital departments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for department’s financial data and statistics
  • Making sure unit expenditures are monitored
  • Developing and recommending department operating budget and ensuring the department operates within budget
  • Collaborating with other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities
  • Communicating with administration and other hospital departments
  • Planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and supervising functions and activities of the department
  • Establishing work standards and work flow
  • Establishing and implementing policies and procedures for departmental operations
  • Encouraging and mentoring staff creativity and innovation
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Proactively achieving the facility goals and objectives
  • Showing quality leadership in meeting performance plans
  • Reading, developing, and administering Total Quality Management process
  • Developing and maintaining job descriptions for department staff
  • Encouraging staff to participate in education programs

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree and equivalent related experience required
  • Six years of housekeeping management experience at a healthcare account required
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
  • General business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High customer service and quality attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
  • Public speaking skills
  • Ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff, to organize and prioritize tasks, and to develop budgets with a complete understanding of facility needs and requirements
  • Excellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills required
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
