Responsibilities
- Promptly greets guest and takes their order.
- Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
- Follows TAPS ID verification and training guidelines.
- Ability to enter orders into POS (Point of Sale) Micros system.
- Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
- Prepares drink order, to include wine and beer.
- Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
- Serves food items to assigned tables in manner it was ordered.
- Totals up bills and accepts payments or refers patron to Cashier.
- Promptly clears and resets guest areas at conclusion of each course or service.
- Ensures food stations are stocked according to checklists.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be 21 years of age or older to serve and prepare alcohol.
- At least 1 year of server experience in the restaurant or food service industry.
- Observes extensive grooming, customer service, and uniform/ dress standards.
Preferences
- Municipality of Alaska Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire.
- Must have Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP) certification; or have been formally trained in alcohol management/serving.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
- Infrequently required to sit, crouch or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35lbs.
