Events Manager, UCI Alumni Association
About the role
The Events Manager plays a crucial role in delivering all-inclusive alumni events for UC Irvine. They manage public traditions and events such as Lauds and Laurels, Homecoming, regional alumni events, generational events, and high visibility programs managed by UCI Alumni Relations. This position requires a seasoned professional with the ability to coordinate and oversee moderately complex and/or medium-size events.

Requirements
- Proven ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Respond effectively to priorities and set deadlines
- Use a personal computer and computer software programs
- Set and monitor work standards and protocols
- Recruit, supervise, motivate, and evaluate volunteers
- Communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Maintain a high standard of productivity
- Provide excellent donor stewardship
- Give clear directives and make optimal decisions
- Work with invited guests, donors, government officials, and university VIPs
- Complete large volumes of diverse tasks efficiently
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
- At least three years of experience in event support work, preferably in a non-profit or higher education setting
Special Conditions
- Able to work nights and weekends as required for events
- Must comply with background check and live scan
- Must not have been subject to final administrative or judicial decisions involving misconduct within the last seven years
- Must not have left a position after receiving notice of allegations or while under investigation in an administrative or disciplinary proceeding involving misconduct
- Must not have filed an appeal of a finding of misconduct with a previous employer
- Must comply with California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act
- Must pass E-Verify and Pre-placement health evaluation
Total Rewards
The total rewards package includes salary ranging from $71,600.00 to $85,500.00 annually, plus a variety of benefits including medical insurance, sick and vacation time, retirement savings plans, and access to discounts and perks.
