About the role

Under the direction of the Senior Sales and Events Manager, assist in managing the execution, breakdown, and billing of events—including corporate retreats, social gatherings, and small weddings—across Inns of Aurora properties.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and property operations
  • Organize setup lists to prepare for events
  • Assist in creating schedules for event setup, service, and breakdown
  • Facilitate internal meetings as needed
  • Greet clients prior to events and ensure their presence (or their assistant manager’s) is known to the customer during events and their stay in Aurora
  • Execute events and ensure seamless progression by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy
  • Act as a liaison between the salesperson and customer throughout the event
  • Ensure the event services team understands expectations and parameters for event activities
  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout the customer experience and encourage the same from other employees
  • Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients prior to processing final billing
  • Use personal judgment and experience to integrate current trends in event management and design to enhance the customer experience
  • Identify operational challenges and determine how to best work with the team and customer to solve them or develop alternative solutions
  • Solicit feedback from property departments to identify areas for improvement and enhance future events
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and managing events teams, including addressing personnel issues within the department
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary
  • Facilitate beverage orders with the 1833 Manager
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet business needs

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • 3–4 years of food and beverage experience or related field
  • 3–4 years of hospitality experience
  • 3–4 years of customer service experience
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong sense of self-direction
  • Flexibility in scheduling; must be willing to work nights and weekends on a regular basis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred)
  • Prior work experience in a luxury hospitality property (preferred)

Pay

$20–$25/hour depending on experience
