Events Manager
About the role
As the Events Manager, you will ensure the execution, logistics and operations of Rise Against Hunger’s volunteer meal packing events. You will use your leadership skills to lead volunteers in setting-up and executing small medium (50-200 people) in-person events, manage warehouse operations and logistics, and solve complex problems to ensure events run smoothly and hosts are satisfied.
You will play a critical role in carrying out the day-to-day operations and ensure the event calendar is properly staffed and equipped with the necessary resources.
Responsibilities
- Partnership Development: Connect organizations to Rise Against Hunger’s mission and outcomes through arranging meal packaging events and securing financial resources.
- Event Management and Facilitation: Facilitate volunteers and train staff on packaging procedures, and adjust volunteer assignments to facilitate 4-12 volunteer run meal packaging events a month.
- Warehouse/Centralized Distribution Management and Logistics: Receive shipments of raw ingredients, supplies, and equipment, and ship finished products, ensuring proper documentation and inventory tracking.
Requirements
- Age 21 years or older
- Associate degree or two years of work experience in related field
- Proficiency in Google/Microsoft office suite as well as other cloud-based software
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to drive a box truck
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting or operating pallet jacks, including frequently lifting up to 50lbs
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and early mornings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience, education or knowledge related to hunger, international development, and/or non-profits
- Experience using specialized equipment such as box trucks, forklifts, and pallet jackets
- Ability to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
- Knowledge of inventory management and requisition procedures (FIFO)
- Fundraising and/or sales experience
- Public speaking and volunteer coordination experience
- Event planning experience

Pay
Starting annual pay is $25.00 hourly.
Schedule
This position requires extensive local travel of 50-60% and a flexible schedule, including frequent weekends and some evenings, with occasional overnight travel.
