About the role

The Events Coordinator supports the Events Manager with planning, coordinating, and executing events, including CHOC internal events, executive events, Marketing and Communications department events, and select department needs (including CHOC Institutes, HR, Child Life). May require travel to off-site events and working evenings & weekends.

Pay

Pay range minimum $24.25, midpoint $32.12, maximum $39.99. Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, and position requirements.

Schedule

This is a full-time, temporary position supporting the CHOC Foundation through Spring 2027. Shift: Day – 08hrs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events
  • Build productive business relationships with key influencers and consumers
  • Manage multiple projects independently
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of event management experience
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Driver’s License – Class C
  • Proven experience as an events planner or organizer
  • Great interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • MS Office proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, hospitality, PR/Communications, or related area
  • Previous experience in healthcare, non-profit, or family-targeted business
  • Self-directed, flexible, and adaptable

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Sedentary role with occasional lifting (up to 15 lbs) and pushing/pulling (up to 20 lbs)
  • Physical activities: bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use, pinching/fine motor activities, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, squatting/kneeling/crawling, standing, talking/hearing, twisting, walking, wrist position deviation
  • Lifting requirements: occasional lifting from floor to waist level (0-35%) and waist level and above (0-35%)
  • Sensory requirements: color discrimination, depth perception, far vision, hearing, near vision
  • Environmental exposure: airborne communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, dust, extreme noise levels, extreme temperatures, radiation, uneven surfaces or elevations
