About the role

The Campus Life Events Coordinator (Coordinator) is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and producing professional education projects and special events, including the annual “Arrive to the Hive” student engagement events and other Campus Life related programming.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and coordinate multiple events simultaneously at varying stages.
  • Develop event concepts and ensure program development.
  • Negotiate with selected service providers to develop clear and complete event specifications, contracts, and standards of service.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Communications and Program Specialist.
  • Ensure that the components of the finalized event plan are properly enacted.
  • Work closely with service providers to monitor their progress towards the agreed upon objectives and ensure that costs remain within the established budget.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related area and four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with complex and/or large-scale event planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software programs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working in Student Affairs or similar area within Higher Education.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software programs.
  • Ability to analyze information, anticipate/identify problems, and address them proactively.
  • Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations.

Pay

$5,079 per month (Step 1) - $5,834 per month (Step 8)

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with occasional weekend and evening hours dependent on department need.
