EVENTS AND MARKETING COORDINATOR (FULL TIME)

Location: University of Pittsburgh, 4200 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260. Full-time position; days and hours may vary (details upon interview). Because this role serves an educational facility, there may be unpaid periods during winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline, though year-round work at alternate locations may be required depending on business needs.

About the role

Drives a hospitality environment by greeting guests, offering samples, touching tables, and leading guest-facing marketing and wellness programs.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute creative event experiences that energize the campus community
• Assist in other marketing, advertising, and promotional activities, including creating materials and social media
• Report on return on investment and key performance metrics
• Greet every customer and interact to ensure a high level of hospitality
• Greet all team members and ensure they have what they need to be successful each day
• Relay relevant concerns from customers to supervisors
• Ensure all marketing, wellness, and culinary programs are current and in place
• Lead weekly promotions and programs for guests
• Share best practices and recognize co-workers
• Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to customers
• Serve as an advocate of selling techniques by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying/decision-making process
• Ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
• Serve food neatly and attractively per standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Prior experience building and executing creative event experiences that energize the campus community

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Skills

• Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (Canva or Adobe) is a plus

Pay

Fixed rate of $25.00 per hour.
