Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, guests, employees, and performers at events such as concerts, sporting events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Provide crowd control and hospitality security in accordance with venue-specific guidelines.
- Conduct foot patrols and respond to incidents using de-escalation techniques and verbal judo.
- Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor while enforcing rules and policies.
- Work independently with minimal supervision across varied indoor and outdoor environments and seasons.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- No felony convictions; no misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening (including for marijuana).
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean record: fewer than 3 moving violations and 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, and no major violations in the last 3 years (if driving for work).
- Physically and mentally able to remain alert for 8–12 hour shifts, including running short distances, navigating stairs, sitting, standing, and walking long distances.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (70 lbs. for armed roles), use hands and fingers to manipulate keys and equipment, hear conversations in noisy environments, and work with little or no supervision.
Skills
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication.
- De-escalation and conflict resolution using verbal communication tactics.
- Reliability and professional appearance in prescribed uniform.
Pay
$18.50 per hour.
Schedule
- Evenings and weekends with limited day shifts available.
Location
Sterling Heights, Rochester, and Clarkston in Southeast Michigan.
