Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, guests, and performers at events such as concerts, sporting events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Provide crowd control and hospitality security at Pine Knob Music Theater, Michigan Lottery Amphitheater, and Meadow Brook Amphitheater.
  • Follow venue-specific guidelines and maintain client policies while enforcing rules.
  • Conduct foot patrols and respond to emergency situations.
  • Balance outstanding customer service with security responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
  • Must be at least 21 years old and hold a Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder to perform armed security work.
  • Must not have been convicted of any felonies or misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
  • Must pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).
  • Must adhere to the company’s Uniform and Appearance policy and maintain a professional image.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • If driving company or client vehicles or using your own vehicle for work, must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record (less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, and no major violations in the last 3 years).
  • Must be able to move quickly, including running short distances, to respond in emergency situations.
  • Must be physically and mentally sound, remain alert during shifts, and complete a psychological evaluation if applying for armed security.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk long distances (including navigating stairs) for 8–12-hour shifts, work indoors or outdoors in all seasons, and use hands and fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and equipment.
  • Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (70 lbs. if working as an armed security officer).
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

Pay

$18.50/hour

Schedule

Evenings/weekends with limited day shifts available.
