About the Role

The Sr. Technical Specialist is responsible for the technical setup and operation of standard full-production events in a hospitality environment, ensuring client satisfaction. This position reports to an Associate Director or Director of Project Management in the assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Ensure flawless event execution through accurate setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly. Comply with security and safety measures, securing equipment from theft and damage.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service, exceeding customer expectations. Maintain positive client relationships through effective communication. Collaborate with the internal team to ensure customer satisfaction pre-event and during the event. Foster hotel/client relationships.
  • Training/Staff Development: Create an environment fostering technical and leadership skill development. Mentor and coach technical, sales, and operations team members. Develop expertise in a specialty discipline and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Event Supervision: Perform advanced work pre/during/post-event with the operations team. Supervise and direct technicians during events.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist with equipment security, storage, inventory, transportation, and maintenance. Perform inventory and forecast equipment needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of event technology experience in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video required.
  • 4-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license required; additional DOT requirements may apply.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Work is performed in hotel/convention center and warehouse environments with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and dust. Moderate to noisy volumes. Use of high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components. Exposure to heights via lifts and ladders. Irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Adherence to appearance guidelines required.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $30.23 - $39.30
