Event Coordinator Supervisor (Midwest Region)
About the role
The Event Coordinator Supervisor is a key leader within Varsity All Star Operations, responsible for driving regional event execution, financial performance, and operational consistency. This role provides direct leadership and oversight of the regional operations team, ensuring events are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards and financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to the regional operations team, specifically Event Coordinators and supporting roles.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for execution quality, financial outcomes, and operational standards.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members in alignment with company processes and compliance requirements.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide real-time feedback, and support career development and succession planning.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Manage team capacity and align staffing resources with event demands across the region.
- Oversee and direction for planning and execution of all regional events, ensuring consistency with company standards and best practices.
- Serve in a leadership role at events, as needed, including oversight of large-scale or complex deployments.
- Provide onsite leadership support, ensuring alignment to standards and coaching team members in real-time execution.
Qualifications
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L interpretation.
- Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable.
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational strategy, process improvement, and change management.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Salesforce, Workday, and related systems.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibility for regional operations team members, including Event Coordinators and other supporting roles.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While not participating in an event, this job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required. During events, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (5 hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
