About the role
The Events Assistant supports the Events and Guest Services office by providing exceptional customer service, assisting with event preparation and conclusion, and managing the Box Office and concession stand.
Responsibilities
- Operates the Box Office Ticketing system to sell and process tickets, handling cash and credit card sales and reconciling with reports
- Scans patron’s tickets upon entry and usher to the correct seat
- Assists patrons with special seating requests or needs
- Answers Box Office phone calls
- Operates the concession stand
- Serves as a contact person on-site for assigned event
- Sets up technical needs for presenters such as PowerPoints, connecting to Wifi, or turning on music, when applicable
- Performs other duties related to the job description as assigned by the Assistant Director of Events and Guest Services
Requirements
- Average of 60 college credits earned
- Effective customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to solve problems quickly and courteously
- Ability to maintain composure and a professional, friendly demeanor in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft PowerPoint
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
