About the role

Jefferies is seeking a Vice President for its Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Equity Research team, which covers 30 stocks. In this role, you will analyze industry macro trends and company financials under the direction of a Senior Analyst. You will build and maintain financial models and industry databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for research reports distributed to internal and external clients. You will also collaborate with the team to write these reports, including earnings reports, company reports, monthly/weekly publications, and initiation reports.

Additionally, you will review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings, and other sources to gather, synthesize, and interpret data on companies followed by the US A&D Team. Over time, you will communicate recommendations to sales, trading, and clients, develop marketing materials, meet with company management teams, and attend industry conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models and industry databases to support research reports.
  • Write and contribute to earnings reports, company reports, monthly/weekly publications, and initiation reports.
  • Review and synthesize data from business publications, annual reports, financial filings, and other sources.
  • Communicate investment recommendations to sales, trading, and clients.
  • Develop marketing materials for clients.
  • Meet with management teams of companies and attend industry conferences.

Requirements

  • Strong academic background, with a focus on accounting, finance, or economics preferred.
  • 5+ years of related financial services experience, preferably in sell-side/buy-side equity research or investment banking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Resourcefulness, entrepreneurial spirit, and proven leadership qualities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a high GPA.

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in Aerospace and Defense.
  • Solid experience in business modeling and financial statement analysis.
  • Securities licensing (Series 7/63 and 86/87) a plus.

Pay

Full-time salary range of $175,000 - $235,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
