About the role

Jefferies is seeking a senior associate for its Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Equity Research team, which covers 30 stocks. The associate will analyze industry macro trends and company financials under the direction of a Senior Analyst, build and maintain financial models and industry databases, and ensure accurate, up-to-date information for research reports distributed to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models and industry databases.
  • Write research reports, including earnings reports, company reports, monthly/weekly publications, and initiation reports.
  • Review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings, and other sources to gather, synthesize, and interpret data on companies followed by the US A&D Team.
  • Communicate recommendations to sales, trading, and clients over time.
  • Develop marketing materials for clients.
  • Meet with management teams of companies and attend industry conferences as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Strong academic background, with a focus on accounting, finance, or economics preferred.
  • 3+ years of related financial services experience, preferably in sell-side/buy-side equity research or investment banking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; advanced Excel skills are critical.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Resourcefulness, entrepreneurial spirit, and proven leadership qualities.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a high GPA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interest in Aerospace and Defense.
  • Solid experience in business modeling and financial statement analysis.
  • Securities licensing (Series 7/63 and 86/87) a plus.

Pay

Full-time salary range of $135,000 - $165,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
