About the role
A Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking Equity Research Associate for the Aerospace & Defense sector in Markets is sought. The role involves demonstrating strong subject matter expertise within the Aerospace & Defense sector, conducting rigorous analysis, creating and updating financial models and databases, authoring differentiated research content, attending company and industry events, cultivating relationships, communicating research conclusions, collaborating with peers, and exercising independent judgment.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong subject matter expertise within the Aerospace & Defense sector, with a solid understanding of key companies and industry dynamics
- Conduct rigorous analysis of financial statements and industry, company, and market data sets
- Create and update financial models and databases
- Author, with Senior Analyst, differentiated research content on companies and industry themes
- Attend company and industry events; cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts
- Communicate research conclusions to internal and external constituents
- Collaborate with research peers to support the generation of cross-sector research content
- Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Requirements
- 2+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- A BS/BA or higher
- Direct experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector or prior equity research coverage of this industry
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
- Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
- Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application
- Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
