Job Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and compactors, in a safe and productive manner.
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment, completing daily maintenance checklists and reporting any defects or malfunctions to supervisors.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and governmental regulations (OSHA, MSHA, etc.) at all times.
- Execute earthmoving, grading, trenching, digging, and other construction-related tasks as directed by the foreman or superintendent.
- Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents to ensure accurate execution of work.
- Absorb and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and placement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around the equipment.
- Communicate effectively with other crew members, supervisors, and site personnel.
- Perform manual labor as needed to support construction activities.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required for certain roles.
- Ability to read and understand safety instructions, operating manuals, and project plans.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and best practices.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Mechanical aptitude for performing basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as project demands.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
