This position is a Pay Band C3. Department of Health (DOH) and New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute (NMBHI) are proud to offer a medically assisted withdrawal management program and a residential treatment program for Northern New Mexico.

Why Does the Job Exist?

This position will provide direct patient care during substance abuse withdrawal management, provide structure and support during rehabilitation services, and assist with discharge planning. This position will work in close proximity to the Patient Care Assistants to ensure all needs of the clients and program are met daily. This position will conduct early recovery skills groups and guide the clients through structured recreational activities.

How Does It Get Done?

This position will be responsible for assisting with the admission process including; obtaining vitals, property search, inventory, documentation, case management and discharge planning, etc.

Who Are the Customers?

Through the vision of NMDOH and NMBHI, we will standardize our program alongside other state substance abuse programs in effort to open our doors to all New Mexicans that struggle with substance abuse.

Minimum Qualification

  • A High School Diploma and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification.
  • Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License.
  • Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
  • SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONS--This position ls designated as safely sensitive.
  • Employment Is subject to pre-employment and random testing.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).
